A
Tree Grows in D.C.!
D.C.
Greenworks works with local TreeKeepers to ensure their trees
continue to bring beauty and value to their neighborhood for years
to come. As a D.C. TreeKeeper, you’ll receive the counsel
and support you need for a successful tree adoption.
We
offer TWO levels of membership:
Household
Membership
D.C. TreeKeepers are individual households who agree to take care of at least
one street tree on their block for one year. All D.C. TreeKeepers enjoy the
following membership benefits:
- TreeGator® (watering
device) for the street tree you are adopting;
- Tree
planting, identification, and treecare guides ;
- Membership
card that entitles you to discounts at local
nurseries and hardware stores;
- Discounts
on rain barrels to
store rainwater for watering your trees and gardens;
- Subscription
to The Leaf,
our quarterly TreeKeeper newsletter with
seasonal treecare information, articles,
commentary, community grant information;
and
- Ongoing
support, upon request.
Community
Membership
D.C. TreeKeeper Communities are groups of 7-20 TreeKeeper households living
on the same block. TreeKeeper Communities are offered a block discount on membership
and commit to caring for all of the street trees on their block for one year.
In addition to the above membership benefits, D.C. TreeKeeper Communities exclusively receive:
- TreeGators® (watering
devices) for all of the young trees on your block;
- 100
feet of garden hose
- Access
to all three of our Treecare
Workshops on tree planting, maintenance and
pruning. One free workshop with your membership!
“The
Westminster Neighborhood Association
members absolutely came alive when they
heard that D.C. Greenworks would show
them how to trim their trees. While the
community was proud of all the trees
they had planted over the last several
years with DCG, our combined knowledge
of pruning was close to nil. Greenworks
trained us in our own neighborhood, using
some of our new trees as guinea pigs.
We have since taken this knowledge and
trimmed all of our new trees. We are
now patiently waiting for them to grow
strong and proud.”

Johnson, Westminster TreeKeeper Community
