D.C. Greenworks is seeking a Intern to work on greenroof incentive programs.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence the adoption of greenroofing technology in the Capital Region.

This position will initally be on a volunteer basis, but can become a paid position over time.

Sheila Hogan, Executive Director
Sheila's background includes experience as the former and founding Executive Director of the Casey Trees Endowment Fund. She is very familiar with DC code, zoning, and planning/land use issues, having recently completed four years of service as the Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for ANC 3C-07. Sheila also has general, financial and project management experience with a wide range of local, national and international businesses. She has an undergraduate degree from Harvard, and an MBA from Wharton. Email Sheila(at)dcgreenworks.org

Karen Stephenson
Karen has an extensive background in human rights, non-profit and grant management. She spent many years as the director of several New York City youth programs, including running the Youth Leadership program for the Citizens Committee of New York City. Karen initiated the $10,000 dollar Lena Horne Youth Leadership awards program funded by the Ford Foundation as well as worked with the City, the National Guard, Fleet Bank and Baruch University to run the Fleet Youth Entrepreneur program that gave young people grants for starting their own business and culminated in an entrepreneur day that brought 1000 young people the first year and upwards of 2,500 hundred young people in subsequent years for a day of business training and job fair. Karen has also worked in policy with a focus on teacher education and human rights policy. She founded the human rights for teachers program Voices In Action. She joined DC Greenworks in September after spending 2 years in Mallorca, Spain. She is currently working part-time here and has started a business promoting high tech. recycling equipment from Europe. Karen has an undergraduate degree in psychology from Hampton University, a master's in Clinical Psychology and a MPA from Baruch College.
